American Airlines to offer CBS magazine ‘Watch!’ on flights

American Airlines will offer CBS’s new quarterly entertainment magazine, Watch!, on flights throughout September. The magazine will complement the network’s CBS Eye on American in-flight entertainment, and will be available to more than 4.4 million American Airlines passengers flying in September.

The September 2006 issue includes a cover story on CBS News’ new anchor, Katie Couric, who makes her debut as anchor and managing editor of The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric on Sept. 5. Couric talks to Watch! about what she hopes to do with the broadcast as well as her thoughts on journalism, politics and current events. Also in the issue are features on The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan in Shanghai; NCIS star Michael Weatherly in Boston; secrets from the red carpet, and more.

“Having Watch! aboard American Airlines this September is a great opportunity to reach readers in an unexpected setting, and we’re thrilled to be part of the program,” said Gil Schwartz, executive vice president, corporate communications, CBS Corp., who also serves as editor-in-chief of the publication.

Published each quarter by the CBS Communications Group, Watch! debuted in February 2006 and has since published three editions. The magazine has a circulation of 400,000 and is available through CBS’s 219 stations and affiliates, as well as CBS show tapings, gift shops and online orders.
