Christian Vesper promoted at Sundance Channel

Sundance Channel has promoted Christian Vesper to senior vice president acquisitions, program planning and scheduling. He was vice president and will continue to report to Laura Michalchyshyn, executive vice president, programming and marketing.

In his expanded role, Vesper will manage Sundance Channel’s international sales activity and will work closely with Sundance Channel’s digital media team licensing content for the digital/EST platform and securing rights for content streaming deals. In addition to managing Sundance Channel’s acquisitions, Vesper will also continue to oversee scheduling, program planning and ancillary rights.

During his tenure at Sundance Channel, Vesper and his team have been responsible for Sundance Channel’s acquisition of series, feature films, documentaries and specials, including the Peabody Award-winning documentary series The Staircase and the critically-acclaimed Australian series Kath & Kim.  This fall’s launches include The Nominees, Signé Chanel and the third season of City of Men. Vesper’s team is also responsible for the creation of many of Sundance Channel’s programming destinations such as DOCDay, Asia Extreme and Midnight Snack. Most recently, Vesper and his team have begun acquiring documentaries, series and specials for the launch of the environmental destination Sundance Channel Green in 2007.
