Johns named to HR post at CBS News

Crystal Johns has been named director, career development and diversity recruiting, CBS News, effective Monday, Oct. 16. Johns will report to Linda Mason, senior vice president, standards and special projects, CBS News.

Most recently, Johns was a coordinating producer for Allen/Nee Productions (1999-2003).  Before that, she served as special projects manager for WJZ-TV, the CBS-owned station in Baltimore (1992-99).  At WJZ, Johns was also the executive producer of the daily live talk show, People are TalkingGood Day at WCVB Boston (1984-86). She had worked previously at WJZ as a producer and booker for People are Talking with Oprah Winfrey and Richard Sher (1982-84). Johns began her career as assistant public relations manager at WJZ (1981-84). (1987-89).
