BCFM adds to annual awards categories

Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association (BCFM) and its Broadcast Cable Credit Association (BCCA) subsidiary have established three new awards to recognize member contributions to the organization. The awards, which will be presented during the Annual BCFM/BCCA Conference, May 22-24, 2007, at the Rio Suite Hotel in Las Vegas, include:

BCCA Awards

Peter F. Szabo Career Achievement Award—Named for one of BCFM and BCCA’s strongest supporters, who passed away earlier this year, this award recognizes a past or current BCCA member whose efforts have contributed to the growth of the Association and the industries it serves.

BDFM Awards

Working Capital Award—Given in recognition of a BCFM member who has made significant contributions to help BCFM achieve its goals.

Rainmaker Award—Given in recognition of a BCFM member whose efforts and contributions have helped the Association grow.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

“The new awards provide important opportunities for recognizing members’ contributions which benefit the industries and their contributions to our organization,” stated Mary M. Collins, president and CEO of BCFM and BCCA.

In addition to these new awards, the BCFM/BCCA Board of Directors annually considers candidates for the following  awards:

Member Contributor Award—Given in recognition of a BCCA member who has contributed significantly to the BCCA and the broadcast and cable credit and collection industry.

CFO of the Year Award—Awarded to an industry CFO in recognition of contributions to the broadcast and/or cable industry.  Nominee does not have to be a BCFM member to be considered.

Jack Zwaska Career Achievement Award—Named in memory of a former BCFM board member who was executive director of the Television Music License Committee for 18 years and whose leadership helped the industry develop a better relationship with music licensing organizations.  This award is reserved for a member of BCFM who has made similar contributions to the organizational and financial management practices and policies within the media industry.
