‘RACHAEL RAY’ RENEWED THROUGH 2009-10

Freshman sensation cleared by CBS, Gannett, Post-Newsweek, Scripps Howard, McGraw-Hill and Evening Telegram stations.

This season’s highest-rated new syndicated show, Rachael Ray, is renewed through the 2009-10 season, it was announced today by Roger King, chief executive officer of CBS Television Distribution.

Rachael Ray premiered on Sept. 18, 2006, as the highest-rated syndicated talk show debut since Dr. Phil in 2002. Season to date, Rachael Ray is averaging a 2.1 HH rating, more than double its closest freshman talk show competitor. Rachael Ray ranks among the top five syndicated talk shows on television.

The show is currently renewed through 2010 in about one-third of the country, with stations from CBS, Gannett Broadcasting, Post-Newsweek, Scripps Howard, McGraw-Hill and Evening Telegram signing on for two more years. By the end of the new deal, Rachael Ray will have four seasons under its belt.

Stations renewing include the CBS O&Os in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas-Fort Worth, Boston, Miami and Denver as well as stations in the following top 30 markets: WXIA Atlanta (Gannett Broadcasting); KPRC Houston (Post-Newsweek); WDIV Detroit (Post-Newsweek); KARE Minneapolis-St. Paul (Gannett Broadcasting); WKYC Cleveland (Gannett Broadcasting); WKMG Orlando, Fla. (Post-Newsweek); WMAR Baltimore (Scripps Howard); and KGTV San Diego.
