The deal covers affiliates in 31 markets. In a separate “OTT master agreement,” Nexstar picks up rights to distribute its Fox affiliates on virtual MVPDs that are already carrying Fox programming.
Nexstar Media Group has extended its affiliation agreement with Fox for 31 owned and operated stations in though the end of 2019, the company announced this morning.
Nexstar also said it reached an “OTT master agreement” with Fox allowing it to distribute its affiliates on all the virtual MVPDs that are already distributing Fox programming.’
“We are delighted to extend our affiliation agreements with Fox and add OTT digital distribution rights,” said Nexstar CEO Perry Sook in a statement. “Our new agreement reflects the complementary value that Fox’s programming brings to our viewers and stations when combined with Nexstar’s unique, locally-produced news programming and other content.”
Michael Biard, president of distribution for Fox Networks Group stated, “We are pleased to extend our affiliation with Nexstar and launch on emerging distribution services in all 31 FOX-affiliated markets.
