Eric Meyrowitz, a VP of sales at Hearst Television since 2014, has been named senior vice president, sales, with oversight of the sales operations of the company’s television and radio stations and various web platforms. The promotion is effective immediately.
“In a quickly evolving media landscape, Eric continues to provide forward-thinking, customer-focused leadership of our sales and audience research teams,” said Jordan Wertlieb, president of Hearst Television. “Eric and his colleagues have positioned Hearst Television for a very bright future as we expand our business across existing and emerging platforms.”
Meyrowitz returned to Hearst Television in 2014 after having been VP-GM of WPIX New York (CW). Between 1997 and 2000 he was national sales manager for Hearst’s WBAL Baltimore (NBC).
Before WPIX, Meyrowitz spent six years as VP-GM of WDCW, the CW affiliate in Washington, where he started as local sales manager and then became general sales manager. He joined WDCW (at the time WBDC) from WBAL.
He began his television sales career as an analyst and, later, account executive, in New York at HRP, now a unit of Cox Reps.
Meyrowitz serves on the NBC Television Affiliates Board as well as on the boards of the International Radio & Television Society, the Television Bureau of Advertising and The Nielsen Local Media Alliance, and is an active participant with the Broadcasters Foundation of America.
He earned a BA, cum laude, from Boston University.
