Group owner uses Broadcast Interactive Media platforms to debut revamped sites.
Broadcast Interactive Media (BIM) announces that the following Communications Corp of America (CommCorp) television stations have launched new local Web site portals: KTSM El Paso, Texas (NBC www.ktsm.com), WVLA Baton Rouge, La. (NBC, www.nbc33tv.com) and KETK Tyler-Longview, Texas (NBC, www.ketknbc.com). The revamped sites feature Broadcast Interactive’s user-friendly navigation with focus on weather, local news and video.
CommCorp has also committed to launch an additional 10 station Web sites on the Broadcast Interactive Media platform by the second quarter of this year.
“Our association with Broadcast Interactive Media is built on trust and professionalism. That association has allowed us to develop our web sites as an alternative source of media for our customers, and has given us our most effective tool in the process of positioning our stations as the leading source of news and information in our markets” said Mike DeLier, group vice president and general manager of KETK. Further, he adds: “I believe that our television stations supported by our web sites make us the most formidable media in our local markets.”
CommCorp said its station sites have seen new local revenues of over $200,000 per market with the BIM local sales programs, and experienced 200%-400% growth in site traffic in the first few months alone.
Additional ComCorps stations to launch with Broadcast Interactive include KFXK, KWKT, KADN, and WGMB in first quarter 2007, with WEVV, KMSS, KPEJ, KLSB, WBRL, and KYLE slated for the second quarter.
