The head of sales for WLEX Lexington, Ky., will now oversee the Toledo, Ohio, ABC affiliate, succeeding Pete Veto, who will continue in his role as GM of WJRT Flint, Mich.
Gray Television today appointed veteran broadcaster Chris Fedele general manager of its ABC affiliate WTVG Toledo, Ohio (DMA 78). For the past several years, Pete Veto has served as the WTVG’s GM as well as leading WJRT Flint, Mich. Veto will now focus exclusively on his hometown station, WJRT.
He brings more than 25 years of broadcast experience to Gray. Fedele, a native of Northeast Indiana, returns to the region after serving as the director of sales and marketing for WLEX (NBC) in Lexington, Ky., for the past 10 years.
Prior to that, he was president-GM of WPTA (ABC) Fort Wayne, Ind. for five years. Fedele spent a total of 14 years at WPTA, serving at various times as the general sales manager, local sales manager, and national sales manager.
He began his broadcasting career at Blair Television in New York after graduating from Ball State University in 1991.
