The Citadel ABC affiliate promotes from within find new general manager, local sales manager, traffic manager, director of broadcast operations and promotion director.
Citadel Communications today unveiled changes to the management team at ABC affiliate WLNE Providence, R. I. (DMA 52). “It is always gratifying to see talented colleagues assume new responsibilities, but especially so when it involves individuals with long histories of dedicated service to a television station and community,” said Ray Cole, president-COO.
The list of promotions:
Tina Marie Castano has been named the station’s VP and general manager. Castano returns to WLNE after most recently serving as GM of WLWC Providence. She also served previously as general sales manager at WPRO-FM Providence from 2005 to 2007, and enjoyed a long tenure with WLNE from 1988 to 2004 during which time she held a variety of sales and management positions including account executive, local sales manager, and national sales manager.
Bill Lancaster has been promoted to local sales manager after serving as an account executive at WLNE from 2008 to 2017. Prior to joining ABC6, Lancaster was sales manager of Clear Channel Providence’s WWBB-FM and WHJJ-AM from 2006 to 2008. He served as GM of WADK-AM, WOTB-FM and WJZS-FM in Newport, R.I., from 1990 to 2006.
Kathy Douglass has been promoted to traffic manager after serving as national sales assistant at WLNE from 2016 to 2018. Douglass previously was the station’s traffic coordinator from 2008 to 2016. From 2002 to 2008, she was traffic manager at WPRI-WNAC.
Don Curtin has been promoted to director of broadcast operations. Curtin started his broadcasting career at WLNE in 1999 in the news and production departments. Through the years, Curtin has regularly taken on new and expanded duties including promotion producer, graphic designer, it/maintenance technician, and most recently as promotion director.
Brian Egan has been promoted to promotion director. Egan’s first assignment at WLNE was as a news photographer and live truck operator from 2001 to 2006. He was later promoted and served as special projects producer from 2006 to 2011. Since 2011, Egan has been senior creative services producer during which time the station has been recognized with numerous awards for production excellence.
