Paul Magnes takes over management of Sunbeam’s stations in Miami (WSVN) and Boston (WHDH and WLVI) as EVP and GM, replacing Bob Leider, who held those same titles. Magnes has been with Sunbeam for 11 years as director of sales and VP-GM of the Boston stations. Leider plans to stay on as a consultant.
Paul Magnes was named EVP and GM for Sunbeam Television, which owns WSVN Miami and WHDH-WLVI in Boston. He will assume his role July 1.
Magnes has been with the company for 11 years, leading the sales teams at WHDH-WLVI Boston. He was upped to VP and GM of the stations in 2015. Magnes will take the reins from longtime Sunbeam executive Robert Leider who will remain with the company as a consultant.
Jim Rogers, director of sales for WHDH-WLVI, will become GM of the stations.
“This is a great opportunity for me to continue to lead the best teams in our business,’ said Magnes. “It is an honor to follow in the footsteps of Bob Leider, who will remain with our company in an advisory role.”
“Paul Magnes has been an important part of our company in the Boston market, navigating many industry changes, said Ed Ansin, owner/president. “He is now poised to lead both Boston and Miami towards a successful future.”
