Omnicom Media Group, an Omnicom Group unit that houses its media-buying and services firms, is forming a U.S. division to help clients navigate the sports and entertainment worlds, according to a story in the Wall Street Journal.
Steve Grubbs, who was chairman and CEO of the North American unit of Omnicom’s PHD, will head the new company, to be known as Fuse Sports & Entertainment Group. Fuse will oversee four Omnicom owned companies, including Full-Circle Entertainment, a content development and production firm, and Optimum Sports, a sports marketing firm.
The announcement marks Madison Avenue’s deepening interest in entertainment marketing and content creation, according to the story.
