Judy, more than dominating than ever in this, its 23rd season, blew away all competition with a sparkling 7.6 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating, its highest since November and marked six months as syndication’s No. 1 show.
Although it’s quite an accomplishment to finish first for even a single week among the more than 100 nationally rated syndicated shows, Judge Judy achieved a milestone — six months as syndication’s No. 1 show in the household ratings in the session ending Jan. 27, which marked the last full week before the February sweep.
Judy, more than dominating than ever in this, its 23rd season, blew away all competition with a sparkling 7.6 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating, its highest since November.
In addition, the wildly popular courtroom show was one of the very few strips running ahead of last year, improving 4% both weekly and annually.
Other shows in daytime moving up strongly included Dr. Phil, which rose 7% to a 10-week high 3.1 and led the talkers for the 125th consecutive week.
Live with Kelly and Ryan climbed 4% to a new season-high 2.4, tying Ellen DeGeneres, which also added 4% to a 2.4.
Steve Harvey’s Steve joined the party, spiking 8% for the week and 27% over the past three weeks, to a 1.4, matching its season high.
Among magazines, the shows with the best week-to-week growth were:
Access, which vaulted over TMZ with an 8% increase to a 1.4, equaling its highest rating of the season.
Extra, which surged 9% to a 10-week high 1.2, while leaping 20% in the key women 25-54 demo.
Wheel of Fortune was the game show champion for a third straight week, spinning a new season-high 6.9.
Also of note, the off-net Dateline strip jumped 17% among women 25-54 and captured first place in the true crime genre for the 20th week in a row, holding steady at a 1.4, its second-biggest rating of the season.
The week’s top-rated daytime talk shows in the women 25-54 demo were:
