The Media Financial Management Association (MFM) and its BCCA subsidiary announced the associations’ 2009 Award Winners. The awards will be presented at the Annual Conference for MFM, its BCCA subsidiary, and INFE, the Interactive & Newsmedia Financial Executives to be held May 12-14 in Atlanta.
MFM’s Board of Directors will recognize the following 2009 Award recipients at the conference:
MFM Rainmaker Award Winners — These four members have helped MFM expand its value with their contributions, which include: new programs; new members; new sponsors; new benefits. 2009 MFM Rainmaker Award winners are:

- John Kampfe, Turner Broadcasting System
- Trila Bumstead, New Northwest Broadcasters
MFM Working Capital Award Winners — These four very active MFM members have given extensively of their time to help the association produce educational sessions and materials including conference sessions; new membership recruitment; MFM publications; TFM articles; and distance learning seminars. MFM’s 2009 Working Capital Award winners are:

- Pam Manor, WNEM Bay City, Mich./Meredith Broadcasting

BCCA Member Contributor Award — The Univision Credit Department credit managers are being recognized for their overall contributions to BCCA and to media’s credit and collections profession.
Peter F. Szabo Career Achievement Award — Connie Allcorn, business manager with WSB-TV and WSB.com, Atlanta, is being recognized for her contributions to the growth of BCCA and the industries it serves.
“MFM and BCCA could not offer the depth and breadth of educational services and leadership on financial issues affecting the media industry without member commitment to the Associations’ mission,” said Mary M. Collins, president-CEO of MFM and BCCA. “Our 2009 award winners are outstanding examples of individuals and companies who donate their time and expertise for the benefit all of our members and the media industry as a whole.”
In addition to recognizing its award winners, the associations’ annual conference will breature accredited (CPE) sessions designed to assist industry professionals in finance; accounting and auditing; credit and collections; human resources management; and information technology.
The sessions and a lineup of keynote speakers includes: syndicated talk show host, Neal Boortz; Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonist, Mike Luckovich; and Dr. Robert A. Eisenbeis, chief monetary economist at Cumberland Advisors.
MFM is hosting a conference registration sweepstakes that will run until Feb. 28. To sign-up to win a free registration, entrants can go to www.mediafinance.org. Two prizes, one for existing MFM members and the other for non-members, will be awarded. The retail value of the Conference Registration prize is $1,050 for a non-member and $850 for a MFM/BCCA member. The entry form, and a copy of the contest rules, may be found on the Association’s web site at www.mediafinance.org. Winners will be selected in a random drawing on March 3 and announced publicly on or before March 6.
The association is also offering a “Non-Leap Year” $28 discount to anyone who registers online for the conference during the month of February.
