The Sunbeam Television station gives the Spanish-language digital network an outlet in the third largest Hispanic market. The diginet, set for a third-quarter launch, now reaches 48% of all Hispanic homes.
Liberman Broadcasting’s upcoming Spanish-language digital network, Estrella TV, has picked up a key affiliate, Sunbeam Television’s WSVN in Miami, the third largest Hispanic market.
WSVN, primarily a Fox affiliate, will air Estrella TV on multicast channel 7.2.
With the WSVN affiliation, Estrella TV now has outlets in the top five Hispanic markets and has extended its reach to 48 percent of all Hispanic TV households.
Estrella is planning for a third-quarter launch.
Liberman is building Estrella TV on the back of owned-and-operated stations in seven markets including New York and Los Angeles. It is actively seeking affiliates in the other top 25 Hispanic markets.
Liberman also has an affiliation agreement with Communications Corp. of America for four markets in Texas, including the Brownsville-McAllen (KVEO) and El Paso (KTSM).
Like other Estrella TV affiliates, WSVN will be backed by LBI Media’s wholly owned national sales organization, Spanish Media Rep Team.
“We look forward to working with the well-respected and talented team at Sunbeam in bringing our Estrella TV network programming to the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market and expect additional agreements to be in place in the very near term as we select our partners,” said Liberman Broadcasting Executive Vice President Lenard Liberman.
