Huntsberry named president of NBCU International; Zaslav becomes president of NBCU Cable and Domestic TV and New Media Distribution, with Wallach reporting to him.
Frederick Huntsberry has been promoted to the new role of president, NBC Universal International, and David Zaslav has been promoted to president, NBC Universal Cable and Domestic TV and New Media Distribution.
“Frederick and David are experienced and talented executives who are adept at identifying smart, strategic opportunities for NBC Universal, both domestically and abroad,” said Bob Wright, chairman and CEO, NBC Universal. “These moves will allow us to enhance our global distribution capabilities and sharpen our focus on the growth opportunities presented by an increasingly digital and international marketplace.”

In his new role, Huntsberry, who will report directly to Wright, will help provide direction for NBCU International’s new business development growth opportunities. In addition, company said he will “identify ways to better leverage NBCU’s existing international efforts by having the business units working together even more collaboratively.” Huntsberry will continue to have direct operational responsibility for International TV and New Media Distribution under Belinda Menendez (who also reports to Rick Finkelstein) and the Global Networks team under Olivier Gerolami (Europe), Reed Manville (Asia) and Steve Patscheck (Latin America). Bill Vrbanic and Andrea Melville also will continue to report to Huntsberry.
Concurrently, David Zaslav’s role as president, NBCU Cable, will expand to include responsibility operationally for domestic TV distribution, TV EST (electronic sell-through) and TV wireless distribution. In addition, Zaslav will be responsible for NBCU’s TV windowing strategy, focusing on deciding how and when TV content should be released over various platforms. Accordingly, Barry Wallach (Domestic TV Distribution) will now report to Zaslav. In his new role, Zaslav will become president, NBCU Cable and Domestic TV and New Media Distribution and will continue to report to Randy Falco, president and COO NBCU Television Group. He will also work closely with Beth Comstock and her Digital Media team on TV EST and wireless initiatives and with the Universal Pictures team on TV distribution of film product. Bill Vrbanic and Andrea Melville will report to Zaslav in their support of Domestic Distribution.
