The former Phoenix general manager and ad agency executive will head up ABC affiliate WTNH and MNT affil WCTX.
LIN TV today announced the appointment of Mark Higgins as vice president, general manager of its Hartford-New Haven, Conn. (DMA 30) duopoly WTNH (ABC)-WCTX (MNT). He succeeds Jon Hitchcock, who left in March to become GM of CBS’s Philadelphia duopoly of KYW-WPSG.
Higgins joins LIN from The Spark Group, a Phoenix advertising agency, where he was chief operating officer and managing partner.
Prior to The Spark Group, Higgins was president-general manager of Belo Corp.’s KTVK-KASW Phoenix from 2002 to 2008. He has worked in broadcast TV since 1982 as general manager, station manager and local and national sales managers.
Higgins will report to Scott Blumenthal, LIN TV’s executive vice president, television.
Higgins attended the University of Arizona and has served as an instructor at Arizona State University and the University of Tampa’s postgraduate mass communications’ program.
