The broadcast executive will oversee Lockwood’s NBC affiliate in the Sherman, Texas-Ada, Okla., DMA as well as its CW digichannel.
Lockwood Broadcast Group announced that Craig Marrs has been named general manager of its NBC affiliate KTEN Sherman, Texas-Ada, Okla. (DMA 161). Marrs will also be responsible for oversight of the CW Texoma, the digital CW station in the market. The announcement was made by Gerald Walsh, Vice President of Broadcast Operations for Lockwood Broadcast Group.
From 2008 to 2009, Marrs worked for both SmithGeiger and Crawford, Johnson & Northcott, research and consultation businesses offering solutions in differing parts of the television and new media space. From 2006 to 2008, he was the president-GM of WHNT Huntsville, Ala.
Prior to that, Marrs was vice president of Young Broadcasting’s KRON San Francisco from 2000 to 2006. From 1998 to 2000, he was the vice president of business development for Zatso Internet Broadcasting in San Francisco. Prior to that, Marrs was the founder and president of Northwest Cable News in Seattle and the founder of the news division at KHNL Honolulu.
From 1984 to 1994, Marrs worked as a senior consultant and manager with Frank N. Magid Associates, where he consulted with 45 local, national, and international television organizations. Prior to this position, he held various other positions including that of news director.
