Peter Ferrara, president and CEO of the HD Digital Alliance, and Preston Farr, senior vice president of affiliate relations for CBS-TV, will share their perspectives on the impact and opportunities new media strategies offer at the gathering’s closing general session on June 13. “New Technologies, New OpportunitiesÃƒÆ’Ã‚Â¢ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â¬? will be moderated by Harry Jessell, editor and publisher of TVNewsCheck.

Peter Ferrara, president and CEO of the HD Digital Radio Alliance, is responsible for managing all aspects of the new industry coalition in partnership with its member companies including CBS Radio, Beasley, Bonneville, Citadel, Clear Channel, Cumulus, Entercom, Emmis, Greater Media, Susquehanna, ABC Radio Los Angeles and Minneapolis, and WBEB-FM Philadelphia. Prior to joining the HD Digital Radio Alliance last December, Ferrara was a senior vice president at Clear Channel Radio with management oversight of more than 400 Clear Channel Radio stations in more than 70 markets in the Mid Atlantic and Southeast Regions.
Preston Farr is currently the senior vice president of affiliate relations for CBS and for the UPN network. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, which include program clearance, marketing and communications. Affiliate relations is the primary source of information regarding all aspects of the partnership between CBS and its network of more than 200 affiliated stations across the country. Farr has worked in affiliate relations at CBS for all of the 24 years that he has been with the company. He previously held account executive positions with John Blair, TeleRep and WNBC-TV.
Harry Jessell, editor and publisher of TVNewsCheck, an online publication, will moderate the panel. Prior to launching TVNewsCheck in January 2006, Jessell worked for more than 25 years as a reporter and editor at Broadcasting & Cable (formerly Broadcasting). As the magazine’s top editor from 1997 to 2004, Jessell directed its move from Washington, D.C., to New York City, coinciding with a shift from its focus on law and regulation to programming and advertising. As a reporter in the 1980s and early 1990s, Jessell covered broadcast technology, cable TV, the Federal Communications Commission, Congress and the federal courts. He was named executive editor in 1993 and editor in 1997.
