The new syndicated half-hour judge strip has been cleared in 94% of the United States with groups including Barrington, Belo, Capitol, CBS, Cox, Hearst, Journal, Local TV, Mission, Newport, Roberts, Sinclair, Tribune and Weigel.
Litton Entertainment announced today that the national syndication premiere of Street Court will take place Sept. 21. The show is described as a half-hour strip “that breaks out of the courtroom” and takes the judge and the litigants on location to the scene of the dispute.
The series, cleared in over 94 percent of the country, features Judge Mazz (a.k.a. Michael Mazzariello), a tough-talking former Brooklyn district attorney who cleaned up crime in his own neighborhood.
Offering a twist on one of the most popular program formats on television, Street Court pairs “the authority and tradition of the judge role with the authenticity and drama of real locations,” according to Litton.
Stations and station groups signed on for Street Court include WPIX New York, KCALV Los Angeles, WCIU Chicago, Barrington, Belo, Capitol, CBS, Cox, Hearst, Journal, Local TV, Mission, Newport, Roberts, Sinclair, Tribune and Weigel.
NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution Advertising and Media Sales is responsible for all barter advertising sales for Litton’s The Brian McKnight Show, Street Court, Storm Stories and Jack Hannah’s Animal Adventures/Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller.
