Phil Bishop, David Grant Promoted To VPs At CTD
Phil Bishop and David Grant each have been promoted to vice president at CBS Television Distribution.
Bishop’s new role as vice president, worldwide DVD mastering will put him in charge of production of all CBS DVD and Blu Ray releases worldwide. He will be responsible for overseeing CTD’s new internal production area at Television City, which includes creating the physical design and authoring of CTD’s DVD titles in-house, producing special features for new releases and helping build the worldwide DVD release schedule.
As vice president, digital mastering, Grant will oversee all HD and SD mastering on CBS Home Entertainment titles, including editorial and music replacement, music rescoring and creative direction of on-screen menus. He will also collaborate with the marketing and sales departments on new DVD title releases.
Bishop, a London-native, started his career as a runner for Carlton Television and was then a scheduler for West One TV in London before moving to Los Angeles in 2000 to work as the manager of international operations at Paramount Pictures for five years. Subsequently, he served as director of worldwide DVD production for CBS Television Distribution.
Grant began his career in television as a production coordinator on The Dukes of Hazzard and has risen through the ranks working in a variety of freelance production positions: associate producer (Spelling Entertainment), director of operations (Lucas Digital Ltd.), post production supervisor (20th Century Fox) and executive director of archives/anti-piracy (20th Century Fox). Most recently, Grant served as the executive director of television mastering for CBS Television Distribution.
Both Bishop and Grant are based in Los Angeles.
