Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento contestants vie for a $100,000 grand prize and help in launching a show biz career.
Liberman Broadcasting Inc. (LBI Media), yesterday debuted a new talent show called Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento on its Estrella TV network. The originally produced LBI program, which airs Monday through Friday at 9 p.m. ET, gives contestants an opportunity to compete for a grand prize of $100,000 and assistance in launching a career in the performing arts as a recording artist, magician, dancer or comedian.
Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento will take place over a 10-week period and feature an array of talented amateurs and unknown performers, with popular guest stars making appearances.
Auditions were held at Estrella TV stations in Los Angeles, Houston and Dallas. The program is taped on location in Los Angeles at several historic old theatres. Five hundred qualifying acts will be narrowed down by a combination of celebrity judges, a celebrity audience and ultimately, for the two-day live finale, the entire viewing audience. Pepe Garza, the Grammy-award-winning program director for LBI’s regional Mexican radio stations, along with Hispanic superstars Lorena Herrera and Hector Suarez, will be the judges on the show.
Estrella TV broadcasts unique content produced by LBI Media from its Burbank, Calif., studios and counterprograms the imported content found on other Hispanic networks. The company’s slate of original programming includes musical-variety, comedy, scripted drama, talk and game shows, and features top talent from the United States, Mexico and Latin America.
