Cox Cross Media, the online sales unit of Cox Reps, has hired Mary Barnas to head its newly formed Local Solutions Group.
Barnas is joining Cox Cross Media from the Carat media agency, where she was executive vice president and director of local broadcast. In her new job, she will report to Steve Shaw, senior vice president, and oversee staffs in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago.
Cox Cross Media was formed in 2007 to sell online advertising for the 300-plus TV stations represented by Cox Reps’ three rep firms: TeleRep, HRP and MMT.
The Local Solutions Group will provide “a comprehensive, easy-to-use platform” for buyers of local online advertising, the company said.
“Cox Cross Media is reinvesting its capital and organizing our talent and resourses to grow the local media ad business,” said Cox Reps President Jim Monahan in a statement. “We’re excited to bring Mary’s expertise and vision to our team. For more than 20 years, she has been instrumental in interactive planning and integrated buying.”
