Newly-created position returns him to NBCU in Burbank.
Nate Kirtman was named to the newly created position of vice president, NBC Universal Television Group Publicity, where he will re-join the department in Burbank following communications roles at GE’s corporate headquarters and Aviation business.
“We are fortunate that Nate will be re-joining our team,” said Rebecca Marks, executive vice president, NBC Universal Television Group Publicity. “Nate’s affable style, diverse experience and organizational acumen will be key assets as the NBC-U Television Group continues to expand its horizons.”
Kirtman will be primarily assigned to oversee the group’s overall media strategy, planning and communications efforts. This will also include integrating East and West Coast publicity endeavors, among other duties to be determined later.
Most recently, Kirtman was manager of marketing communications at GE-Aviation in Cincinnati, where he was responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing communications for its $5 billion services business.
Prior to that, Kirtman managed the corporate dot-com team at GE’s corporate headquarters in Fairfield, Conn. Earlier, he worked as the GE.com content manager.
Kirtman began his GE career in 1998 as a senior press manager with NBC Entertainment in Burbank.
Before coming to NBC, Kirtman was a marketing representative for Warner Bros. International Television Distribution.
In 1992, Kirtman was a ninth-round draft pick of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
