Dave Barrington promoted to senior VP/general sales manager, advertising sales at MNT, while Elizabeth Herbst-Brady replaces him as senior VP, advertising sales, at Twentieth Television.
MyNetworkTV and Twentieth Television today unveiled two major advertising sales executive appointments. Dave Barrington has been promoted to the newly created position of senior vice president and general sales manager, advertising sales at the new network; while Elizabeth Herbst-Brady will join Twentieth Television as senior vice president, advertising sales.
Effective immediately, Barrington will be responsible for overseeing all ad sales for My Network TV, scheduled to launch on Sept. 5. Most recently, he was senior vice president, advertising sales, at Twentieth Television.
Also on Sept. 5, Herbst-Brady will replace Barrington and manage all first-run and off-net syndication ad sales on behalf of the company. She joins Twentieth Television from Starcom USA in Chicago, where she was senior vice president/director of broadcast investment. Herbst-Brady’s appointment is a homecoming of sorts, having worked at Twentieth Television from 1993 to 1996. Both Barrington and Herbst-Brady will report directly to Bob Cesa, executive vice president, advertising sales, of Twentieth Television, in New York.
“I am very pleased to have Dave spearhead our ad sales for My Network TV,” Cesa said. “His longstanding relationships throughout the advertising community, dedication, creative instinct and strategic foresight make him the perfect executive to help launch the network. Elizabeth is one of the most effective and respected sales executives in the business and I’m excited to have her rejoin our team. In addition to her many other industry accomplishments, she played a pivotal role in our success during the mid-’90s and I’m looking forward to her being a part of our family again.”
Cleared in 139 markets, including 26 of the top 30, representing 82% of the United States, My Network TV will provide broadcasters original primetime programming and branded national marketing initiatives. Targeted to adults 18-49, MNT will air 12 hours of all high-definition programming Monday through Saturday.
