Tribune Buys Show From ‘Baywatch’ Creator
Twentieth Television has sold new weekly one-hour action-adventure series Pt Dume to Tribune Broadcasting stations in its top 10 markets.
The new series, from Baywatch creator and executive producer Gregory Bonann, focuses on a group of teen troublemakers from L.A. enrolled in a unique detention program in order to turn their lives around.
“With the combination of the Tribune Broadcasting Station launch group and the historical success of Baywatch, Pt Dume on weekends in fall 2011 will give broadcast stations the opportunity to once again capture that successful formula,” Twentieth Television EVP and GSM Paul Franklin said in a statement.
“Now that our CW stations are five nights of original programming we are looking to add a sixth night,” Tribune Programming President Sean Compton said in a prepared statement. “Pt Dume is the perfect complement to our existing prime lineup.”
Pt Dume is cleared in 30% of the country, including Tribune’s WPIX New York, KTLA Los Angeles, WGN Chicago, WPHL Philadelphia, KDAF Dallas, KIAH Houston and WDCW Washington.
