Nexstar’s CBS affiliate will debut a one-hour weekday newscast on Sept. 12 that will feature a fully interactive platform to connect with viewers.
WTAJ, Nexstar’s CBS affiliate in Johnstown-Altoona, Pa. (DMA 102) announced today that it will launch Central Pa Live on Monday, Sept. 12. Central Pa Live will be the market’s first one-hour, live, local 4 p.m. daily broadcast, according to the station.
Central Pa Live will offer topical programming with a specialized focus on local lifestyle content, including segments from experts on topics ranging from health, personal finances and family to a host of community interests. Central Pa Live will feature a fully interactive platform to connect viewers through CentralPATV.com and social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter.
WTAJ VP-GM Phil Dubrow said in a statement: “WTAJ has proudly remained this community’s news leader for decades by consistently providing programming, news and information to serve our Central Pennsylvania viewers needs and interests. In addition to local news, weather and feature reporting from the WTAJ news team, we are very excited to bring new and exclusive lifestyle and community interest programming to Central Pennsylvania with Central Pa Live.”
Central Pa Live will be co-hosted by former News 12 New Jersey reporter Dawn Pellas and former KAAL Rochester, Minn., senior reporter Sarah Swistak. They will interact with viewers through social media applications, allowing viewers to provide real-time input on the most recent community developments.
