The latest buy for the computer billionaire is Me-TV affiliate KVOS. Terms were not disclosed. Earlier this year, he purchased KFFV Seattle and KTLN San Francisco.
OTA Broadcasting, a new company controlled by Dell computer billionaire Michael Dell, has agreed to purchase KVOS Seattle-Tacoma, Wash. (DMA 12), from Newport Television, according to broker Kalil & Co., which represented Newport. Terms were not disclosed.
The Me-TV affiliate will be OTA’s second station in Seattle-Tacoma. Earlier this year, it bought KFFV for $5 million.
OTA has also acquire KTLM on the northern fringe of the San Francisco market, paying $8 million for it.
Based in Kansas City, Mo., Newport Television was created in 2007 when Providence Equity Partners purchased the TV station group of Clear Channel Communications. It is headed by Sandy DiPasquale, president-CEO.
