NBCUniversal’s Media Works today expanded the roles of four key executives: Stacy Brady, who has been named general manager, news field and production operations; Ian Trombley, who has been named general manager, East Coast television and on-air operations; Jeff Mayzurk, who has been named general manager, West Coast technical operations; and Marc Siry, who has been named senior vice president, media products and advanced technology.
“I’m pleased to announce expanded roles for some extremely talented executives,” commented John Wallace, President, Media Works. “Stacy, Ian, Jeff and Marc are all proven leaders with solid track records, and their newly expanded roles will provide them with even greater opportunities to contribute to the growth and development of the company overall.”
As general manager, news field and production operations, Stacy Brady now adds 30 Rock news production to her bureau, field and satellite operations responsibilities. This adds to her scope the expansive editing organization at NBCU’s 30 Rock facility in New York, as well as the media management and archival departments for NBC News.
Brady already oversees an international team of engineers who provide day-to-day technical support and live-remote origination for NBC News worldwide; her expanded responsibilities more closely align NBC News production and post-production assets with these functions, creating an end-to-end workflow.
Her staff currently provides telephone/data service, video/audio connectivity, and live remote origination for both NBC News and NBC family members such as CNBC, Telemundo, Access Hollywood, NBC Sports, The Weather Channel, NBC Entertainment, and Peacock Productions, as well as for non-NBC customers. Brady is based in New York.
In his expanded role of General Manager, East Coast Television & On-Air Operations,Ian Trombley will add responsibility for East Coast TV operations, including the operation of the 30 Rock studios and control rooms, the engineering for technical facilities, the enterprise-wide on-air graphics organization known as ArtWorks, as well as the facility operations in 30 Rock and Englewood Cliffs, N.J..
In addition, Ian will continue to lead all of the companywide media operations and on-air origination, for both network and cable, including the multichannel origination facilities in New York, Englewood Cliffs as well as the distribution of the Comcast-contributed channels in Los Angeles. Trombley is based in New York.
Jeff Mayzurk, who joined NBCUniversal earlier this year as the chief technical officer for the Comcast Entertainment Group, will now assume the role of GM, West Coast technical operations, and take leadership responsibility for Media Works’ West Coast Technical Operations. In this role, Mayzurk will manage NBCUniversal TV operations in Burbank and over the next few years will lead the efforts to design, plan and build a new broadcast facility for several of the business’ Burbank-based television partners. In addition, Mayzurk will oversee the physical and digital vaults, film preservation, technical services, as well as Universal Digital Services. He will also work closely with Ian, helping to provide local oversight of the technical operations at Wilshire Boulevard. Mayzurk is based in Los Angeles.
With his appointment as SVP, media products and advanced technology, Marc Siry’s client-centric, product-oriented digital team will expand to encompass media products and advanced technology. Working with operations and development teams across Media Works, Siry’s team will provide support for coordinating product strategy, development, design and technical architecture for critical systems. Siry will work to evaluate emerging platforms and share knowledge and best practices across NBCUniversal and business partners.
Additionally, Siry will add oversight of the advanced technology and standards team, continuing NBCUniversal’s work in developing industry standards; informing regulatory activity; and driving research and development in business critical areas. Siry is based in New York.
