Coverage of 9/11 memorials on Tuesday cut into the numbers of Katie, Jeff Probst and Ricki.
Preemptions for special coverage of the 9/11 memorial on Tuesday hurt the ratings for all the new talk shows that made their debuts on Mon., Sept 10.
For example, Katie, while still tops,, declined from a primary run 2.8 rating/8 share on Monday, to a 2.3/7 on Tuesday, averaging a 2.5/7 in the metered markets for its first two days.
Jeff Probst had a two-day average of 0.9/3 and Ricki posted 0.8/2 average for the two days.
New talker Steve Harvey, which premiered Sept. 4, scored a six-day average of a 1.4/4 and improved the most over year-ago time periods. Harvey was up 40% in households from last September and surged 80% in the key women 25-54 demo.
