Will lead syndicated programming sales to stations in the Midwest.
Tribune Entertainment Co. has promoted Jon Krobot to vice president of station sales, central region.
Krobot will oversee all program sales activities for Tribune Entertainment throughout the Midwest territory. Television programs represented by the company include the weekend edition of American Idol Rewind premiering Sept. 30; game show strip Family Feud starring John O’Hurley; animated sitcom strip South Park; feature film packages from DreamWorks SKG; weekly series Soul Train; the DIC Kids’ Network; and various movie packages and lifestyle series from Hearst Entertainment.
Most recently, Krobot was director of station sales for the Midwest region. He will remain based in Tribune Entertainment’s Chicago offices and will continue to report directly to Steve Mulderrig, executive vice president of domestic and cable sales for the syndicator.
“Jon’s understanding of the television business, and his relationships with stations, station management, and key television groups, makes Jon a valuable resource at TEC.” Mulderrig said, “he has become not only a solid salesman in his territory, but also a seasoned manager with impressive people skills.”
Krobot has been with Tribune Entertainment since 1997, when he joined the team as an account executive for the western region and quickly transitioned into the position of the territory’s sales manager. In 2001 he was transferred to Tribune Entertainment’s Chicago operation where he was promoted to sales manager of the Midwest region.
Prior to joining Tribune Entertainment, Krobot worked with Sullivan Broadcasting in Nashville as an advertising account executive.
