Its Telemundo Now mobile app and Web player make available full-length episodes of hundreds of programs on the Web, iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets to subscribers of participating cable, satellite and telco providers.
Telemundo Media Launches TV Everywhere
Telemundo Media today announced the launch of TV Everywhere, via the Telemundo Now app, available for download at the App Store and Google Play. This new platform allows authenticated subscribers of participating cable, satellite and telco providers —including AT&T U-verse TV, Cablevision’s Optimum TV, Charter, Comcast’s Xfinity TV, Cox Communications, DirecTV, Dish, Mediacom, Suddenlink and Verizon FiOS — access to Telemundo episodes the day after air, anywhere, anytime on iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets.
Telemundo is the fourth network within NBCUniversal to provide this offering, which NBCU said “marks an important step in the company’s long-term strategy to provide both viewers and marketers a user friendly way to engage with its content on multiple platforms.”
The Telemundo Now app, which derives its name from the Bravo Now app, also allows viewers to watch full episodes of Telemundo’s best programs in HD on the Web via a responsive design portal that seamlessly adjusts to the size of the user’s screen. Starcom MediaVest Group is the exclusive launch sponsor for Telemundo Now.
“Telemundo Now demonstrates Telemundo’s investment in creating the best platforms to serve our digitally savvy viewers,” said Peter Blacker, EVP, digital and emerging businesses, Telemundo Media. “As our audiences embrace new mobile and Web viewing technologies, we are dedicated to delivering the most enhanced high quality viewing experience whenever they want, on the screen of their choice.”
Users who missed the original broadcast of their favorite programs can go to TelemundoNow.com or download the Telemundo Now app to watch episodes of hit shows including Caso Cerrado Edición Especial, Santa Diabla, Marido en Alquiler, Billboard Mexican Music Awards and more. With special features like “Mi Lista,” viewers can catalogue their favorite shows for fast access and easily resume play to pick up right where they left off. Other features include an on-air TV schedule and a WiFi only option to prevent data overages.
“We are always looking to connect our clients’ brands with audiences in the video space across screens and in new and innovative ways,” said Marla Skiko, EVP of digital innovation, SMG Multicultural. “Telemundo Now will allow our clients to connect with the video hungry Hispanic viewer who is watching their favorite Telemundo programs on their device of choice and on their own time.”
According to Nielsen, 68% of U.S. Hispanics own a smartphone and spend 11% more time watching mobile video than the general population.
