The former ABC sales and marketing exec is named SVP, business development and strategic partnerships, CBS Television Stations.
Veteran multi-platform sales and marketing executive Gerald Griffin has been named SVP, business development and strategic partnerships, CBS Television Stations.
Griffin, who reports to Jim Sullivan, president of sales for the group, will be responsible for working with the sales teams at the group’s 29 stations and spearhead the creation and execution of new business initiatives and the development of strategic cross-platform sales opportunities involving CBS-owned television stations as well as other CBS Local Media assets, including CBS Radio stations and combined local TV and radio digital properties; as well as advertising solutions provided by the recently launched Curb TV service, which features content from CBS Television Stations in taxis and other for-hire vehicles across the country; and EcoMedia, CBS Corporation’s environmental, wellness and educational media unit.
He joins the CBS Television Stations group after having served as SVP, ABC Regional Sports & Entertainment Sales in New York, since 2009. In this position, he oversaw the national sales and marketing efforts involving the ABC owned television stations, ESPN owned radio stations and various regional sports networks and digital out-of-home partners represented by the ABC Regional Sports and Entertainment Sales unit.
Prior to that, he spent seven years as VP-general sales manager of ABC Regional Sports Sales.
Griffin’s background also includes sales and management experience in both television and radio, including positions at Traffic Pulse Networks, as well as WNYW, WWOR, WXTV and WNYW, all New York.
Griffin earned his B.A. in communications and marketing from Manhattan College.
