Many years ago the definition of a newsroom computer system (NRCS) was a software application designed to support rundowns, scripts and wires, but demands changed and so did Annova Systems’ newsroom computer system OpenMedia with it.

OpenMedia has morphed over the past 20 years into a high-level research online engine (OpenMedia Newsbroker), a scalable standard newsroom solution (OpenMedia Now), a story-centric workflow tool with a knowledge management layer for content exploitation (OpenMedia Infinity) and an independent collaborative news planning platform (OpenMedia Vision).

At this years’ IBC (Sept. 11-15), Annova Systems is showing how OpenMedia is expanding the definition of what a newsroom computer system is by demonstrating the following product capabilities:

OpenMedia Newsbroker: There are more information sources today than ever before. Therefore your NRCS needs a fully featured research engine to listen to the thousands of social, Web, wires, images and videos that you have instant access to. Annova has seamlessly integrated Newsbroker into OpenMedia. Newsbroker is a research listening tool developed by our partner X.news.

OpenMedia Vision: News happens everywhere so OpenMedia Vision helps journalists to plan and share their content across different locations. Vision works independent from other rundown-management platforms, which gives you the opportunity to use this component with your existing workflow.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

OpenMedia Anyplace: News happens everywhere so Anyplace keeps the correspondents in the field connected to the Newsroom through tablets or mobiles.

Broadcast Integration Server (BIS): Knowledge is distributed across your whole corporation within many different applications. Therefore your NRCS needs to interconnect to all sources of data and content within the corporation that influence the News. Annova has teamed up with our partner Plantri to deliver an information layer to allow ubiquitous access to all repositories of content that impact the news.
