On Sunday, ChyronHego released a number of announcements at the NAB Show. They include:
The launch of LyricX, an all-new release of the company’s flagship Lyric graphics creation and playout solution. Based on ChyronHego’s Lyric PRO platform, LyricX harnesses the power of 64-bit architecture for graphics creation and playout.
A central component of LyricX is an all-new keyboard/control surface that exposes all familiar Lyric functions and offers programmable LCD keys that can be completely configured for any use case. With the revamped user interface in LyricX, users can configure screens for specific programs, such as news shows, and they can easily switch between these individual environments.
LyricX is a fundamental element in the CAMIO Universe, a software-based newsroom production ecosystem. The CAMIO Universe is driven by CAMIO 4.2, part of ChyronHego’s CAMIO graphic asset management server, slated for release in the third quarter of 2016. With version 4.2, CAMIO continues its integration with Lyric, and newsrooms will be able to leverage the speed improvements of LyricX to bring more news to their audiences faster. With the CAMIO Universe, the greater ChyronHego family of products will emulate Lyric’s template-based tools and playout control, including the company’s Hybrid virtual graphics solution, Metacast weather graphics generation tool, PowerClips multi-format production clip server, and GS2 Multi-Touch touchscreen generation platform.
At the 2016 NAB Show in booth SL1210, ChyronHego will showcase LyricX working in tandem with the company’s Channel Box Prime 64-bit channel branding system, an example of the convergence taking place in the ChyronHego product family in support of the CAMIO Universe.
NBC Olympics has selected ChyronHego’s Lyric PRO running on the Mosaic XL platform to provide on-air graphics for its production of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, which take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Aug. 5-21.
NBC Olympics will be deploying the Lyric PRO software on 12 Mosaic XL systems for the creation and on-air playback of fast and on-the-fly data-driven graphics, during its presentation of the 2016 Rio Olympics.
“It’s an honor to be chosen, once again, to provide state-of-the-art graphics capabilities for NBC Olympics’ production of the 2016 Games,” said Johan Apel, president-CEO, ChyronHego. “NBC Olympics understands the importance of innovation and creativity for drawing viewers into the action during high-profile live sports telecasts. In addition to providing performance and reliability in the live production environment, our Lyric PRO solution gives NBC Olympics powerful yet easy-to-use tools that support engaging storytelling and a memorable presentation of popular sports.”
Kanal 75, the media arm of Sweden’s trotting and thoroughbred horse racing organization known as ATG, has purchased 17 ChyronHego systems that will add tracking, analysis, and virtual graphics to its broadcasts of Swedish Trotting Association races. Each system combines ChyronHego’s ZXY sports analysis product, its Virtual Placement tool, and its GS2 graphics engine. The project is the first for ChyronHego’s ZXY technology outside of soccer and one of the largest of its kind in the world of horse racing.
ATG, the authorized betting company for trotting and thoroughbred racing in Sweden, exists to guarantee the long-term financial stability of the sport, in part by promoting responsible betting. As a fully owned subsidiary of ATG, Kanal 75 produces racing broadcasts for ATG that are shown on TV4, at ATG betting shops, and on the Internet at www.ATG.se, attracting betters not just from Sweden but from Australia, South Africa, the United States, and about 20 European countries.
