Tribune Broadcasting Renews Fox Affiliations

Tribune Broadcasting on Tuesday announced that it reached a comprehensive, multi-year agreement with Fox Broadcasting to renew the existing Fox affiliations of six Tribune Media stations: KSWB San Diego; KTXL Sacramento, Calif.; WXIN Indianapolis; WTIC Hartford, Conn.; WXMI Grand Rapids, Mich.; and WPMT Harrisburg, Pa. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

I’m surprised they didn’t try to early-renew the former Local TV LLC/Fox stations with the pre-2012 Tribune Foxxers. Also KCPQ is still under that odd different contract.

Does that include the other former Local TV LLC Fox stations beyond KCPQ? You would think by now they would put them all under a single agreement – puts Tribune in a stronger negotiating position….

    Not when the agreement for the ex-Local TV Fox affiliates doesn’t expire until late r next year. It’s possible that Tribune wanted to get this deal done first (presuming the previous agreement ran out before the end of this year), before working on a deal for those stations.
