‘Masked Singer’ Returns Down, Still Leads
The Masked Singer‘s return from two weeks off for the World Series brought lower ratings than its last outing — but it still led Wednesday’s 18-49 ratings by a sizable margin. NBC’s Chicago Med finishes first in total viewers Wednesday but trails Fox’s unscripted hit by a good margin in adults 18-49.
Soledad O’Brien, Mort Marcus, Ira Bernstein and Perry Sook will be honored at the 2020 show, while Nexstar CEO Perry Sook will keynote the Station Group Summit.

NBC has ordered four more episodes of the hit comedy, lengthening its fifth season to a full 22 episodes. So far in season 5, Superstore is averaging a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 3.9 million total viewers after seven days of delayed viewing. In terms of its live+same day performance, the show is NBC’s sixth highest rated series overall, averaging a 0.77 through six episodes.
ABC has firmed up its next live comedy event from Norman Lear and Jimmy Kimmel. The duo behind the Live in Front of a Studio Audience franchise will next team for the Dec. 18 mashup of All in the Family and Good Times as the sequel to May’s All in the Family–The Jeffersons.
Strong Ending Helped World Series
Fox won the week in primetime, averaging 9.8 million viewers. NBC had 7.1 million viewers, CBS had 6.1 million, ABC had 3.8 million, Ion Television and Telemundo both had 1.21 million, Univision had 1.17 million and the CW had 780,000.
