WMTV went live from a new 32,000-square-foot facility in Madison, Wis., with its entire operation in late October 2016. The Wall Street Journal reports that cord-cutters accustomed to watching shows online are often shocked that $20 “rabbit ears” pluck signals from the air. Is this legal? “I was just kind of surprised that this is technology that exists,” says Dan Sisco, 28 years old. “It’s been awesome. NEP Group has acquired Bexel Global Broadcast Solutions (a subsidiary of Vitec Group) in a move that combines two of the biggest vendor names in live sports production. The deal for Bexel further expands the Pittsburgh-based broadcast-services provider’s inventory of flypack systems and equipment for live event production.
