NBC Renews ‘Parks,’ Cancels Bubble Sitcoms
NBC has renewed “Parks and Recreation” for a sixth season while at the same time announcing cancellation of White House laffer 1600 Penn, Whitney and Up All Night.
NBC will unveil the pilot episode of its White House sitcom, 1600 Penn, after the season finale of The Voice, at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 17. 1600 Penn stars Bill Pullman (Independence Day), Jenna Elfman (Dharma and Greg), and Josh Gad (Broadway’s The Book of Mormon) as a dysfunctional First Family.
NBC bolstered its upcoming comedy roster by picking up the White House comedy 1600 Penn and the office comedy Animal Practice (formerly Animal Kingdom) to series Monday.
