A debate moderator’s question that appeared to dismiss his denial of a story that he had told rival Elizabeth Warren that a woman couldn’t win the presidential election was making news following this week’s Democratic debate.
It was a respectable audience, beating almost every other network in its time slot, but still down from past highs. Viewership fell short of a CNN debate in October, which attracted 8.3 million viewers, and an ABC debate in September, when 14 million tuned in.
The second round of Democratic debates will take place July 30-31 in Detroit with both nights featuring at least two top-tier candidates each. Candidates’ debate night podium position will be based on public polling.
