DirecTV Advertising has partnered with independent TV and cross-platform measurement, planning, analytics and attribution firm 605. Adding 605’s capabilities will provide DirecTV advertisers with more visibility into lower-funnel metrics, including sales lift, website activity, and geolocation visitation, complementing DirecTV’s D2C relationships, first-party data and audience-based media solutions, according to the television provider.

Building on more TV measurement tests from TV advertising sellers, Xandr, the advanced advertising/marketplace unit now owned by Microsoft, announced it has struck deals with six measurement companies in preparation for the upfront TV market. Measurement and analytics company 605 is introducing a platform that will help programmers and advertisers plan, buy, assess and attribute advanced advertising campaigns. AMC Networks and Discovery are the first two programmers to sign up for a pilot test.
Charter Communications has made an undisclosed investment in the advertising data and analytics company 605, which is run by former Cablevision COO Kristin Dolan. Under the agreement with 605, Charter will supply the company with aggregated and anonymized data culled from its network of pay-TV set-top boxes. In turn, 605 will use its proprietary data infrastructure and analytics capabilities to enhance Spectrum Reach, Charter’s advertising sales unit.
Dolan Family Ventures, owned by the Dolan family, which founded Cablevision Systems and this year sold it to French telecom firm Altice, just created its own audience measurement and analytics business, called 605, that will tap its “relationships with partners across the country that provide extensive, privacy-protected, set-top box viewing data.” In conjunction with that, DFV bought data firm Analytics Media Group, which it says has “deep political, marketing and analytics expertise.”
