Ann Curry Eying Network News Comeback

Incoming president of CNN Worldwide Jeff Zucker has plans to bring ousted Today show co-host Ann Curry to his new network as a high-profile anchor, sources say. Zucker — the former executive producer of Today and one-time NBCUniversal head — is interested in installing Curry in CNN’s 8 p.m. time slot, which is currently occupied by Anderson Cooper.
NBC still has to replace Ann Curry as Today co-host (maybe with Savannah Guthrie) with no success guaranteed, and its primetime lineup remains troubled.

That’s up 7.6% from the same period last year and, more importantly, the show is expanding its gap over main rival, ABC’s Good Morning America. Since Curry’s elevation, the show has grown the demo ratings gap over GMA by 7%.
