The WPLG Miami GM fills the ABC affiliate board seat previously held by Bill Hoffman.
Berkshire Hathaway Co. on Tuesday promoted E.R. Bert Medina to president of its ABC affiliate WPLG Miami (DMA 16). Medina had been the station’s VP-general manager under its previous owner Graham Holdings Inc. (Post-Newsweek Stations). Berkshire Hathaway announced it was buying the station in March.
The former Univision executive is tapped by Post-Newsweek Stations to lead its Miami ABC affiliate following the retirement of Dave Boylan.
He succeeds Dave Boylan, who announced that he will leave the Miami ABC affiliate and its owner Post-Newsweek Stations, joining the board of Rentrak and acting as a consultant to the ratings firm. Mediina joins the station from Univision where he’s spent 13 years, most recently as SVP-operating manager of the TeleFutura Television Network.
