At 98, Betty White has many gifts, including her unique perspective on the evolution of television. The Los Angeles native starred in her first experimental TV broadcast in Hollywood a few months before NBC pulled off its broadcasting feat at the 1939 New York World’s Fair in Queens.
The 97-year-old actress is one of the main attractions in NBC’s next push to bring broader audiences to its soon-to-launch season of Sunday Night Football. A promo featuring White has the actress talking about a looming Sept. 5 match-up (a Thursday) between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, telling viewers: “There’s only one thing more badass than this year’s kickoff — and you’re looking at her.”
Byron Allen, Mara Brock Akil, Robert Greenblatt, Rita Moreno, Betty White and Henry Winkler will be feted at an awards gala set to take place during NATPE Miami 2019 on Jan. 23.

The 93-year-old will be honored with this year’s lifetime achievement award next month at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
The actress will be presented with the group’s Lifetime Achievement Award at its 2012 conference in June in honor of her 60-plus years in television and films.
