On Wednesday evening, NATPE presented its 17th annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards at a dinner in Miami. NATPE’s annual awards went to Byron Allen, Mara Brock Akil, Robert Greenblatt, Rita Moreno, Betty White and Henry Winkler.

Greg Berlanti, Cesar Conde, Jane Fonda, Kevin Reilly and Tom Selleck will be honored on Jan. 17 during NATPE conference in Miami Beach.
Among those honored at Wednesday’s ceremony in Miami Beach were AMC Networks’ Josh Sapan, YouTube’s Susanne Daniels, Univision’s Randy Falco, multihyphenate Eva Longoria and Fox’s Gary Newman and Dana Walden.
Six honorees will receive their awards at a reception scheduled for Jan. 18 at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach.
“Steve Harvey, Doug Herzog, Quincy Jones, Sophie Turner Laing and Norman Lear are fearlessly creative innovators and we can’t think of a more fitting group to honor for this year’s Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award,” says NATPE President-CEO Rod Perth.
At the 12th anniversary Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards on Wednesday evening, Jay Leno, the last of the half dozen honorees to appear, spoke from the heart about what Tartikoff had meant to him. Tartikoff, who died in 1997 at age 48, had been head of NBC Entertainment when Leno was first starting his career, back when the comedian first appeared on The Tonight Show, which then starred Johnny Carson.
Netflix’s Ted Sarandos, Jay Leno, Entertainment Tonight alum Linda Bell Blue and producer Jonathan Murray are among the industry notables set to receive the Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards on Jan. 21 at the NATPE confab in Miami Beach.
Jon Feltheimer, Lauren Zalaznick, Emilio Azcarraga Jean, and James L. Brooks get tribute treatment at the 11th annual Tartikoff Awards, recognizing industry figures who have made an impact on the business in the spirit of the late NBC master programmer.
Cecile Frot-Coutaz, Fernando Gaitán, Dennis Swanson and Matthew Weiner will be honored in Miami at January’s conference.
