Whoopi Goldberg, Amy Poehler, Maury Povich, William Shatner Among NATPE Honorees

Entertainment giants Whoopi Goldberg, William Shatner and Amy Poehler, talk show pioneer Maury Povich and veteran producer Alex Kurtzman (Hawaii Five-O, Star Trek: Discovery) will be among the TV greats honored this year with the 18th annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy awards at the 2022 NAPTE television market. Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman Channing Dungey and producer and media investor Jeff Sagansky will also be honored.

Tartikoff Honorees Push Diversity, Press Freedom

On Wednesday evening, NATPE presented its 17th annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards at a dinner in Miami. NATPE Honors Six With Tartikoff Awards

At the 12th anniversary Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards on Wednesday evening, Jay Leno, the last of the half dozen honorees to appear, spoke from the heart about what Tartikoff had meant to him. Tartikoff, who died in 1997 at age 48, had been head of NBC Entertainment when Leno was first starting his career, back when the comedian first appeared on The Tonight Show, which then starred Johnny Carson.
