News staffers at the NBC-owned stations have been ordered to review the network’s 83-page manual on news guidelines in the wake of the Brian Williams scandal at NBC News. WMAQ Chicago staff were told they have until Friday to get it done.
The network announced Tuesday night that embattled NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams will be suspended for six months without pay for exaggerating his role in a helicopter incident in Iraq. “This was wrong and completely inappropriate for someone in Brian’s position,” Deborah Turness, the president of NBC News, said in an internal memo.
