On Friday, the network canceled comedy Call Me Kat after three seasons. The show has seen dwindling ratings, particularly in its third season.

Jim Patterson and Maria Ferrari will take over the top spot of the Mayim Bialik comedy for Fox in its third season. They are replacing Season 2 showrunner Alissa Neubauer, who decided not to return. She replaced Darlene Hunt, who was showrunner in the comedy’s first season.

Besides starting production on a new season of Fox’s sitcom Call Me Kat, Bialik was recalled to duty as a Jeopardy guest host — the result of the quiz show’s publicly messy effort to replace the late Alex Trebek. While Bialik didn’t speculate on whether she might ultimately be Sony’s pick, she said she considers herself part of the show’s “family” and was glad to help out on the syndicated show around the season-two taping of Call Me Kat.

Kat’s cat café will remain open after Fox handed freshman comedy Call Me Kat a second season. However, Darlene Hunt, who was the showrunner and executive producer of Season 1, is leaving the show and negotiations are underway for her replacement.
