The Arsenio Hall Show has made a big change at the top, with executive producer/showrunner Neal Kendeall stepping down.Eric Pankowski, SVP of programming and development for Arsenio Hall distributor CBS TV Distribution, will step in as interim showrunner while Hall mounts a search for a new exec producer.
CBS Television Distribution’s freshman syndicated talk show Jeff Probst handed out pink slips to several staffers, including producers, on Thursday. “As with most new shows, we had beefed up our production team for launch, and are now settling into a more appropriate staffing level for a daily talk show,” a show spokesperson said.
After possible suitors had been whittled to two — CBS and ABC — CBS TV Distribution pulled its offer for a syndicated daytime talk show with her over a week ago, before Couric officially announced her exit from CBS Evening News last Tuesday. Meanwhile, talks between Couric and ABC, which was the last major player to enter the fray, are ongoing as ABC is finalizing its offer.
Aaron Meyerson today was named president, programming and development of CBS Television Distribution. He will will be responsible for all first-run development and will oversee CTD’s current programming, including syndicated hits Entertainment Tonight, Judge Judy and Rachael Ray.
