Comcast Cable is renaming its Spotlight advertising sales division as Effectv to reflect that in a changing television environment, it can show advertisers the impact of the campaigns it runs. The company is shifting its emphasis from traditional spot sales to a focus on data-driven and addressable advanced advertising.
Comcast Corp. said Monday that Dave Watson will become president and CEO of Comcast Cable as Neil Smit moves into a new parttime role as vice chairman of Comcast Corp., effective April 1.
Sinclair Broadcast Group said today that it has entered into a multi-year agreement with Comcast Cable for the carriage of Sinclair’s television stations. “We are pleased to announce that we were able to come to an agreement with Comcast, the largest cable provider in the country,” said Barry Faber, Sinclair’s general counsel. “While we are not permitted to disclose the financial terms of the new agreement, we are pleased with the value received, which reflects the importance of our programming to Comcast subscribers.”
