ABC Signature will pay $3 million to settle a lawsuit brought by the California Civil Rights Department regarding sexual harassment and retaliation allegations on the set of Criminal Minds. The suit, which was filed in May 2020, alleged that cinematographer Greg St. Johns subjected multiple male crew members to sexual harassment including unwanted touching and caressing, and made unwelcome and threatening comments.
Netflix’s offering of Criminal Minds was the most-viewed show on streaming platforms in the last week of January, according to Nielsen’s latest Top 10 list released Thursday. The popularity of Criminal Minds has been the fuel for news just this week. Paramount+ confirmed yesterday it is rebooting the hit CBS procedural, which ran from 2005-2020 and spawned two spinoffs, with a 10-episode season revolving around a single case.

Criminal Minds may be off the air now, but the Walt Disney Co., CBS and a Pretorian guard of executives from the long running series are now looking down the barrel of a sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuit from the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.
CBS has renewed the long-running crime drama for a 15th and final season, to air during the 2019-20 TV season. The farewell salvo will consist of 10 episodes, which will film this spring and bring the show’s run to 324 total episodes.
The pickup comes several weeks after the network handed out its usual early renewals to 16 series, with the drama noticeably absent from the list. The procedural continues to pull in solid numbers for the network despite several recent cast departures.
CBS’s procedural drama Criminal Minds may be aging, but it still has some vigor among DVR viewers. The March 1 episode of Minds posted a 2.2 rating among viewers 18-49 with seven-day DVR playback added in, according to Nielsen. That was up 69%, or 0.9 points, from its original 1.3 live-plus-same-day DVR playback rating.
